An unofficial, comical, often irreverent look at the longest running science fiction show on television, Doctor Who. More specifically, a series of reviews originally posted to Twitter for the televised stories shown from 1963-1996. Each review is confined to 140 characters or less, including the story title, which makes it a wee bit difficult when you are trying to make critical commentary on “The Greatest Show in the Galaxy,” but we digress.
This book started as an entirely irreverent exercise to combat a particularly nasty bout of writer’s block but took on a charm all its own. There are some reviews with saucy language, there is some word art with cartoonish boobs, and of course Tom Baker talking into a phallus. All of which is intended for your enjoyment.
This is a piece of fan work and is in no way officially or unofficially connected even in the slightest way with the BBC or the Estate of Terry Nation. Everything, including the poorly done “Word Art” that accompanies each story’s review, was created out of love for this show, even if at times that love might be questionable…especially during the later years.

Star Trek, The Original Series, premiered on our television screens in 1966, over the course of the next three years this widely panned series quietly set the foundation for and launched an empire of four more prime-time series, countless books, and graphic novels, and no less than a dozen feature films. 140 Characters or Less attempts to shrink each episode of the original adventures of Captain Kirk and the Starship Enterprise into a Twitter, short attention span deficit, “Millennial” friendly format. Each stories review takes the form of a free-form rhyming crappy poem and is accompanied by even worse stick figure art done by the author. Sometimes saucy, sometimes irreverent, and seldom witty these reviews are provided for your entertainment and are completely unauthorized and unaffiliated with anyone to do with the actual Star Trek franchise.

What I Don’t Know About Monsters is a book based on a battered, worn old notebook found in the forest with only this forward as a clue to its origin: “This book is about monsters, some of them you might have heard about in movies or on television. Some of them are quite famous, while others no one has ever heard of before. Why do I think you need to know about these monsters? Because they are all around you. While not all monsters are bad, some can be downright cute; it is important to remember always to leave them alone if you see one. After all, you wouldn’t like it if a vampire started staring at you, would you? There are monsters everywhere if you know how to look, and you are lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.”

Marine Gunnery Sergeant James Dennesy thought his death a year earlier would be the end of his duties during World War II, but MI86 had different thoughts on the subject. Now James Dennesy is a member of MI86’s undead zombie horde, although unlike the other reclaimed soldiers he had full capabilities and retained what he can of his humanity. With his team members, Captain Rachael Erstweather and Royal Marine Lieutenant Lance Cogswell James Dennesy combats the Baron von Sterb and his witch Gretel who lead the Third Reich’s Unglaublich Waffen-Gruppe (Unbelievable Weapons Group).
This is the second book of the series and contains the following two episodes.

Operation Anthropoid: Operation Anthropoid sees James, Rachael, and Lance journey to Prague in search of a trio of mythical artifacts. The recovery of the artifacts is secondary to their primary mission, support for the Special Operations Executive mission to assassinate Reinhard Heydrich, the architect of “the final solution” and Obergruppenführer of the SS. This real life event serves as the backdrop to the trio’s mission in the city of a hundred spires.

.
Tepes Amulet: Escaping the aftermath of Prague has left Rachael, and James separated from Lance Cogswell. Their escape has brought them to the Castle Poenari, one of Vlad Tepes’ stronghold. Vlad Tepes, or Vlad the Impaler is better known as the inspiration for Dracula. James and Rachael find themselves seeking the 15th century Prince’s royal amulet, an artifact with unknown properties. MI86 is not alone in their search for the amulet as Gretel has cooked up a surprise for the pair.

At the beginning of World War II, a secret organization was founded in England to combat the Nazi’s Supernatural Weapons Group. Charged with tracking down mystical artifacts M.I. 86 hoped to put a stop to the Baron von Stern’s plan to use the relics to win the war for Germany. When US Marine Gunnery Sergeant James Dennesy reported for duty, he had no idea he was M.I. 86’s next recruit.

.

Episode 1: The Hammer of Life
The North Carolina-raised Gunnery Sergeant James Dennesy is sent to Finland to investigate what the German Wehrmacht is doing in Salla. Here he uncovers a world of witches and magic that goes against everything he was raised to believe. When the Gunnery Sergeant fails to complete his mission to stop the mysterious Baron von Sterb and his companion Gretel he is disturbed to discover his untimely death does not spell the end of his involvement in World War II.

Episode 2: Operation Arrowhead
A newly awoken James Dennesy is sent to northern India where the Germans are launching a covert operation meant to disrupt the country and send it spiraling into a civil war. This operation was known as Operation Arrowhead. James’ mission is not to stop the Nazi’s plan to seed unrest in the country, but rather recover a mystical artifact from a remote mountain temple that in the hands of the Nazis could end the war quickly and in their favor.
